Good old Huck and Jim, again...

Since I already started a blog about Huck and Jim, I will expound a little bit more. The relationship between Huck and Jim is emphasized by unwillingness to be alone, offering companionship to each other, for Huck, he really has no one else, and for Jim, his family is somewhere else. Incidentally, Jim offers his knowledge (he knows a great many signs) to Huck and Huck provides somewhat of a protection and a of course companionship to Jim. We can look at their relationship as more than a developing relationship; they have a certain trust with one another. Ultimately, Jim ends up almost sacrificing his freedom to save Tom, when in truth Jim is already free. Huck cannot fathom the society he lives in and the way Jim or any slaves have been treated, because he does not see a difference. Jim has more humanity and heart than any of the characters, aside from Huck. Although the story is a satire, it proves a point about ignorance and preconceived notions about skin color and intelligence.
