A recurring theme through out all of the Harry Potter series is love. Love is what saved Harry Potter; Dumbledore had referred to it as the strongest form of magic. Love is what also protects the other characters near the ending of the novel. However, love like magic is not tangible, it is not something you can grasp or hold, or even see. What is love? Love has many definitions, an affection felt for another person, intimate relations and most usually always used in the context of relationships or commitment (e.g. family members, lovers, friends, etc.). Whatever this love is, it is powerful force, and can be seen in other story lines such as Star Wars, as root of particular actions. Much in the same action that Harry Potter’s live was saved by the sacrifice of his mother; Voldemort himself was a product of unrequited love. In Star Wars, we see Anakin Skywalker choose to give in to the dark side because of his inability to get over the loss of his mother and then faced with the visions of Padme dying; he wants the ability to save her.
